Save the World from Werewolves, Vampires, and Lawyers in Vincent the Vampire
Australian developers, Inuit by Design, presents their dark comical adventure game – Vincent the Vampire .
. You follow Vincent – an office clerk on a lost island in a decrepit city. After accepting that his life and job are meaningless, he ventures to explore the island he lives on for the first time. Shortly after, he is brutally murdered, and wakes up the next morning finding that he is now the undead. Now as a vampire, he is dragged into the underworld of werewolves, monsters, and the most horrific of them all… lawyers.
Vincent The Vampire takes place in an odd dark and spooky environment, not only filled with werewolves and vampires, but cyborgs, a bipolar 80’s super computer, and a re-incarnated monk in the form of a plant. Despite it’s colorful and comical themes, the game will address more mature topics like war, murder, regret, and depression. The developers draw inspiration from other comical adventure games that feature darker tones like Grim Fandango, or I Have No Mother And I Must Scream.
The game will focus on more adult oriented humor, which is commonly not found in games of the genre. Inuit by Design plans to push the genre forward without compromising its original roots. Inuit by Design aimed to do something new and different with their adventure game. Puzzles can be solved in several different ways, and there will also be optional sidequests adding to the lore of the world and characters.
Inuit by Design is currently looking for $30K AUD on Kickstarter. The game is expected to be released for Mac, PC, and Linux, with iOS, Android and OUYA listed as stretch goals. For more information on Inuit by Design, check them out on Facebook.
