Summon the Zombie Apocalypse with Necromancer Kickstarter

Are you tired of being a goody-two-shoes hero all the time?

Are you tired of being a goody-two-shoes hero all the time? Yearning for a little more malice and chaos in the world? Saving the world is so passé.

Other Worlds Software is letting you be the Necromancer instead of slaying the undead wizard for a change. Necromancer is a PC and Android title in which you accelerate the doom of the living by bringing as many un-living out of their graves as possible, overcoming pesky wannabe heroes. Other than undead minions, the necromancer has spells at his disposal, because without strategy the heroes will slay them and level up. Those who dare face your army usually do so armed, with magic, swords, and chainsaws.

Designed with tablet gameplay in mind, Necromancer features a simple touch interface. Pressing anywhere on the ground spawns a group of helpful zombies. For other monster types, there are icons at the bottom of the screen. Selecting spells is similarly easy. Magic can beef up minions, snare heroes, or help out in a few other ways. The controls will lend to an enjoyable mobile experience, and Other Worlds Software is planning on cross-platform multiplayer between PC and Android.

Necromancer won’t require an internet connection to play solo, and those who team up for the cooperative multiplayer  should know that it will bring increased challenges and bigger levels to the team of dark masters. The game will span 50 levels across five different environments with pickups and bonuses, as well as topography that strategically influences gameplay. Top that off with an improvement and management system between battles, and you’ve got a nice little evil-doer simulator.

Necromancer has an ongoing Kickstarter campaign, with a release date set for May 1st; even pledges as little as £5.00 get a copy of the game. The developers assure that each copy will be DRM-free, and there won’t be any microtransactions.

“The more you contribute the more we can do,” they write on their campaign page. “We have many ideas we would like to develop for Necromancer, such as PvP, league tables and much more, and if we raise a very large amount of funds, then we will be able to implement them.”
