Video: Solving the time travel paradox for Super Time Force

Super Time Force , Capy Games' time-bending 2D puzzle-shooter, tackles several unusual design challenges that are probably familiar to you if you've ever worked on a game with time travel.

Chiefly, how is it possible to create self-consistent scenarios when the past can constantly change? Can causality be violated under a many-worlds interpretation of time? How much should your brain be hurting by the end of your time travel design meetings?

Capy Games' Kenneth Yeung addressed these issues and offered a first-hand look at the development of Super Time Force during a talk on the topic at the GDC 2014 Independent Games Summit.

His presentation was recorded for posterity, and it's worth watching for any developer wrestling with minor design issues like quantum entanglement and the design flaws of linear time.
