Bertram Fiddle Episode 2 Seeks Kickstarter Support
Following on from Episode 1: A Dreadly Business (covered by IGM here ), self-proclaimed world-leading “explorator” of the Victorian era Bertram Fiddle is set to return.
Episode 1 saw Bertram hunt through a quirky re-imagining of the streets of London with his cyclops-eyed man servant, Gavin. They very nearly captured the elusive Geoff the Murderer, and now they’re returning to finish the job in some brand-new locations populated by outlandish new characters in another 2D point-and-click comedy adventure.
The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle series is the creation of Rumpus Animation, who received funding from Creative England’s Gameslab initiative for their first episode. The series has an animation style reminiscent of the more surreal side of Cartoon Network, with its first episode soundtracked by Cameron Reynolds, paying homage to 70s B-movies. Filled with humor and absurdity, A Dreadly Business won the Best Narrative Award at the Tokyo Indie Festival.
Rumpus promise this sequel will be “more murdery, more mysteriousy” and filled with “even more pun-believably bad jokes”. The Bertram universe is set to expand into a longer, more elaborate game than the first episode, as Bertram finally uncovers the identity of the murderous Geoff.
The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle, Episode 2: A Bleaker Predicklement is being developed for PC, Mac, iOS and Android, dependent on Kickstartersuccess. Rumpus are aiming to raise at least £25,000 ($38692.50 USD) by November 6th. For more information, check out the Bertram Fiddle website, Facebook, or Twitter.
