‘Minecraft: Pocket Edition’ Sales Up To 5M, Franchise At 17.5M
The mini-version of the hit indie title, Minecraft , has now sold over 5 million copies between iOS and Android.

, has now sold over 5 million copies between iOS and Android. It’s pretty astounding when you consider that between all platforms, including Xbox 360 and PC, that Minecraft: Pocket Edition account for more than one-fourth of the series sales.

Despite how well it has sold, Pocket Edition is the much lesser developed in comparison to the XBLA and PC version. We’ve seen over the past few months Mojang continuously updating the game to catch it up to speed to its bigger version.

Currently the one big feature Minecraft: Pocket Edition is missing is online multiplayer. Users can play together via local Wi-Fi, but not through the Internet. However Johan Bernhardsson of Mojang has recently stated that  online multiplayer is in the works.
