, is available to mobile gamers – for free. The turn-based tactical combat game is licensed by Games Workshop, and available exclusively for iOS devices.
“We are proud to release the first free-to-play Warhammer 40,000 game,” says Alexey Sazonov, COO of HeroCraft, adding that “it’s only the beginning. Our team is dedicated to developing the game and adding new content, cards, campaigns, and gameplay modes, including PvP battles.”
In Space Wolf , players will take on the role of one of the titular Space Wolves, intergalactic explorers and heroes. They will embark on an epic campaign that takes them to a distant planet. Against the backdrop of hostile environments, they will combat the Word Bearers, a deadly group of fanatical traitors in the service of the gods of Chaos.
Interactive 3D environments provide the setting for the tactical squad-based battles. Choose from three ranks of Space Wolves – will you be the Grey Hunter, the Wolf Scout, or the Wolf Guard? Each has its own perks and attributes, allowing you to select the best option for your preferred playing style and strategy. As the game progresses, you will encounter five unlockable companions, any two of whom may accompany you into battle.
The combat, meanwhile, is driven by collectible cards. Assemble the finest deck through victory; level up your team and unlock new weapons, special bonuses, and tactics-enhancing cards. There are hundreds of weapons and abilities available, allowing you to customize your decks to enhance your preferred strategies. You can also visit the forge of the Iron Priest, where your cards can evolve to make your party even more formidable in battle.
Jon Gillard, the head of licensing for Games Workshop, is very enthusiastic about Space Wolf . “[It] is a fantastic game that mashes up the best bits of tactical squad-based games with a lovely card game mechanic that had me deck-building for hours,” he notes. “I haven’t been able to put it down since the first playable build, and I’m looking forward to playing it all over again from scratch now that it’s been released.”
