Fist Puncher is an homage to all the great sidescrolling beatemups of the 8 and 16 bit eras.
Fist Puncher is an homage to all the great sidescrolling beatemups of the 8 and 16 bit eras. If you’re old enough to remember Streets of Rage, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or the original Double Dragon trilogy, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Fist Puncher is your classic button masher brawler complete with a ridiculous story ripped right out of the late 80s / early 90s. Players take on the role of over 15 selectable vigilantes led by Dr. Karate – the world renowned neurosurgeon and black belt – as they perform unnecessary surgery on the crime lords that hold a lawless city in their brutal grip. The game looks and sounds like it is straight out of the retro gaming era and plays like it’s straight out of 1988. The game is simple to pick up and play with the left stick or D-pad controlling movement and the face buttons attack and jump. Of course every one of the fifteen character has their own set of special moves and abilities to master.
Team2bit has added in some excellent RPG elements and a game map so that you can choose branching paths or replay levels with friends. Speaking of friends, Fist Puncher is best experienced with 3 of your friends huddled around the same TV or monitor. The games ridiculous levels and over the top violence all lend itself to a shared experience with friends. Whether you are crashing a Nazi birthday party or tasing tweakers on the beach, Fist Puncher is a riot to play. The game is still in development but promises over 50 levels, over 100 collectible items, 99 unlockable achievement trading cards, and tons of secrets and easter eggs.
Stay up to date on Fist Puncher by checking out Team2Bit’s official website. The game is also trying to get Greenlit on Steam.
