Take Up Your Sword In ‘Heroes & Legends: Conquerors of Kolhar’

Warriors in search of glory, your hour has come and your people need you.

Phoenix Online, the team behind award-winning games like Cognition and The Silver Lining , has joined forces with French developer Cuve Gamesto bring you Heroes & Legends: Conquerors of Kolhar . If you’ve been longing for a new sword and sorcery adventure that lets you be the hero, read on.

Billed as “an epic blend of fantasy role-playing and strategy,” Heroes & Legends takes place in the kingdom of Kolhar, where an evil prophecy threatens to plunge the world into darkness. Your initial team of heroes consists of Benedict, an arrogant mage; Yaha, a lovely but deadly warrior; and Allen, an imposing paladin who leads the trio. These three are called upon by the ruler of Kolhar, Queen Sijsen, to retrieve a mysterious artifact, which is the only thing that can prevent the end of the world as we know it. Along the way they will encounter more than 130 different unique enemies, and also some additional heroes who join their crusade. The player must learn which heroes to utilize when, and in what combinations, to emerge victorious from battle.

The game looks to contain all the usual vital elements of a fantasy adventure. Battle with blades or cast spells, craft equipment, and gain experience to unlock more and more of the story. The party must prove their worth through both story-relevant quests and randomly generated side adventures. Players select from a wide variety of weapons and magic powers and develop a sound strategy, then send their team into the fray against hellish legions. How will your story end?

Heroes & Legends launched last week and is available for PC, Mac, and Linux. It can be purchased from the Phoenix Online store, via Steam, or through any of the major online retailers. The price tag of $9.99 USD includes more than just the game, which makes it somewhat unique in the indie world; you’ll also receive a few printable goodies. Purchasers can enjoy perusing the bestiary of more than 50 creatures found in Kolhar, and also the set of ten collectible trading cards for the game.
