IGM Forum Finds: Tired of Star Roads and Colorful Power-Ups? J.A.R.G. Will Have You Covered

The racing roads and tracks of Bavaria are dangerous and illegal.

The racing roads and tracks of Bavaria are dangerous and illegal. There is a great risk to those who choose to take a tour in their car at high speeds – but for many of us, very soon, we can do so without leaving our houses. J.A.R.G. (Just Another Racing Game) is currently in development for PC and Mac by Flaucher’s Finest, a prolific team of developers with a sense of humor (check out that intro video on their website). There are many racing games out there, but the goal of J.A.R.G. is to be only a racing game, nothing more.

The tracks in the game are modeled after the aforementioned Bavarian racing grounds, and actual aerial footage of those tracks have been used in the game’s design. The twisting roads, the steep drops, and the mountain passes are all pulled directly from real life, with no alterations or flamboyant colors. In J.A.R.G. , what you see is what you get. Having already been released on Android, Flaucher’s Finest are seeking a release very soon for iOS, and PC/Mac releases are expected in 2015.  With mobile releases being the primary goal, one expects that the controls will be simple, even though the tracks are not. Won’t you see for yourself?

Download J.A.R.G. for free from the Google Play store. You can see more details on the game’s website, Twitter, and Facebookpages. Flaucher’s Finest are also seeking approval on Steam Greenlight, so if you like the project, go forth and vote. You can, of course, also read the original forum post, where you can also ask questions about the project if you’d like.
